Charles Kazaz is a partner who practises in the areas of environmental and mining law at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. Advises in the commercial, industrial, mining, property development and waste management sectors. Charles is based in both Montréal and Toronto. Extensive expertise in environmental aspects of corporate, commercial and property transactions, project development, regulatory compliance and liability issues. Advises clients on environmental and natural resources permitting, environmental assessments, enforcement, and regulatory compliance. Advises mining companies on land transactions, mine reclamation and closure issues, and mineral rights concerns. Involved in negotiating agreements with First Nations. A frequent speaker in education programs in environmental law, including contaminated lands and directors' and officer' liability. Past chair of the CBA's National Environment, Energy and Resource Law Section and of the CBA Québec Division's Environment Section.
