Davit Akman is the Chair of the Cassels Competition & Foreign Investment Group. He advises on all aspects of Canadian competition/antitrust and foreign investment review law, including mergers, cartel defence, and civil matters. Davit has cleared major multi-jurisdictional and domestic mergers in a wide array of industry sectors. He has also acted as counsel for private parties and the Commissioner of Competition in numerous proceedings before the Canadian Competition Tribunal and in class actions and other complex, civil, and criminal competition litigation matters at all levels of court in Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Davit is the Chair of the Antitrust Law Committee of the ABA Business Law Section. He clerked at the Supreme Court of Canada for Justice Louise Arbour.
