John Christian is a partner at Cassels. His practice focuses on corporate finance and securities law, mergers & acquisitions, and related corporate and commercial law matters. John assists issuers and underwriters in connection with the offering of securities by way of public offerings and private placements. His practice includes friendly and hostile takeover bid transactions and proxy solicitations. He has extensive experience in structuring and executing complex corporate restructurings and reorganizations, including amalgamations and arrangements, for both public and private entities. He also has significant experience in mining matters, including the acquisition and disposition of exploration properties and producing mines; the establishment, operation, and winding up of joint ventures; and the negotiation and assignment of royalty and participation agreements. He acts for locally, nationally, and internationally based investment dealers, investment counsel, and fund trustees in connection with a range of matters, including fund formation, restructuring and reorganization, and registration and compliance matters. He is a contributing author to the British Columbia Company Law Practice Manual and the Annual Review of Law and Practice.
