Edward Waitzer was Chair of Stikeman Elliott (1999–2006) and is the leader of the Corporate Governance Group. His practice focuses on complex business transactions, and advising in respect of various public policy and governance matters. He served as Chair of the Ontario Securities Commission (and of the Technical Committee of the International Organization of Securities Commissions), Chair of the Liquor Control Board of Ontario and as Vice President of The Toronto Stock Exchange. He has written and spoken extensively on legal and public policy issues. He is a former Falconbridge Professor of Law at Osgoode Hall Law School and is presently Professor and the Jarislowsky Dimma Mooney Chair in Corporate Governance and Director of the Hennick Centre for Business and Law at Osgoode Hall Law School and Schulich School of Business. He is an inaugural fellow of the American College of Governance Counsel and Vice-Chair or Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile S.A.
