Eric Bremermann is a partner and member of the mergers and acquisitions and project development and finance groups, as well as co-chairman of the energy group in the Toronto office. Bremermann leads the firm’s business initiatives in respect of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and is recognized for his work in fostering connections between Canadian and Europeans markets. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, with an emphasis on Canadian-European cross-border issues, including advising on mergers, acquisitions, disposition and financing, corporate governance matters, business and family succession, project development, and the establishment of subsidiaries in the CUSMA marketplace. Bremermann also has specific experience in renewable energy and independent power production. He has advised a variety of clients in the energy sector in connection with their entry into the Canadian market, including acquisitions, development and financing of power projects (including wind and solar), and advising on associated regulatory requirements.

On September 1, 2017, adidas AG completed its divestiture of CCM Hockey to a newly formed affiliate of Birch Hill Equity Partners for US$110 million, subject to customary adjustments. CCM Hockey consists of its main operations in Montréal as well as operations in the US, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
On March 30, 2015, a subsidiary of Renewable Energy Trust Capital, Inc. acquired CityLights solar power project, a 10-megawatt AC solar power plant, from CSI Solar Project 16 Inc., a subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc. Two other 10-megawatt AC solar power plants, DiscoveryLight and FotoLight, were acquired by the same subsidiary on December 31, 2014.
