Practice emphasizes complex litigation including competition, IP, commercial and regulatory disputes. Counsel in 60+ national and international class action matters involving competition, consumer, privacy and securities claims involving issues including cross-border discovery, settlement and certification. Counsel in numerous competition cases, including over 45 cartel class actions, as well as private actions, contested mergers, deceptive marketing practices and Competition Bureau investigations; and retained as counsel by the Bureau in criminal, merger and marketing practices cases. Also regularly advises social media sites, OTT services, webcasters, broadcasters and cable networks on copyright matters — counsel in over 35 Copyright Board proceedings, and related proceedings in the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
