Leena is a family lawyer and the founder of YLaw, a boutique family law firm with offices in Vancouver and Surrey, British Columbia. Under Leena’s leadership, YLaw has become the fastest growing female-lead family law firm in BC, and in 2020 made history by winning The Globe and Mail’s Top 400 Fastest Growing Companies in Canada and Canadian Business’s Top 500 Growth awards.
Completely self-made and not equipped with much except her education and a big dream, in 2013 she opened her law practice in a small office-share space. Her dream was to bring positivity and humanity to a profession that is sometimes known for cultivating the opposite within itself. Unafraid to tackle cultural and important family law issues within her community, she went on to become successful counsel on several ground breaking cases at the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal of British Columbia which were frequently covered by the media. In 2019, she was chosen as Business in Vancouver’s Top 40 under 40.
Leena is convinced that the main reason behind every success she has had is believing in and empowering her female leadership qualities which include nurturing, love, community and kindness.
