Ballard Power Systems Acquires EBARA’s Interest in Ballard Generation Systems ($57 million)

On December 12, 2001, Ballard Systems Inc. acquired EBARA Corporation’s interest in Ballard’s stationary power subsidiary, Ballard Generation Systems Inc., for US$35.8 million.

Ballard was represented in the transaction by a legal team from Lang Michener’s Vancouver office consisting of Amyn Abdula assisted by Charlotte Olsen (securities), Barbara Snyder (securities) and Christopher Lee (intellectual property). Ballard relied on Noordin Nanji (VP, Strategic Development) and their in-house corporate counsel, Stephanie Chan. EBARA was represented by their in-house counsel, Yuji Tanaka.
