Aliya Ramji has joined McCarthy Tétrault LLP as an income partner in Toronto.
Aliya Ramji has joined McCarthy Tétrault LLP as an income partner in Toronto. Her practice focuses exclusively on start-ups, scale-ups and other fast-growth businesses. In addition to delivering tailored legal advice and other strategic value to high-potential businesses in the start-up or scale-up phase, Ramji regularly advises venture capital, angel and strategic investors, as well as parties looking to create strategic alliances or partnerships with founders or start-ups. Prior to joining the firm, she was Senior Director, Legal and Corporate Affairs, at a successful med-tech start-up for health-care professionals.
Joseph Fried has joined Fogler Rubinoff LLP as a Commercial Real Estate partner in Toronto. His practice focuses on commercial real estate transactions, commercial mortgages and mortgage enforcement proceedings acting for both institutional and private investors.
Fogler Rubinoff also welcomed new associates Fantasia Qian in Commercial Real Estate, and Gabriela Caracas in Litigation & Dispute Resolution.
Jacqueline Chan has joined Lenczner Slaght Royce Smith Griffin LLP as an associate in its Intellectual Property Group, where her practice will encompass a range of intellectual property litigation including technology, pharmaceutical and biologics patents.
Miller Thomson LLP has welcomed three new partners to its Toronto office. Michael Caruso has a Corporate/M&A practice; John Philpott works in Commercial Litigation and Construction Litigation; and Manjit Singh practises in Corporate Tax. Gita Anand has also joined as associate counsel in the area of Labour & Employment law; she previously worked for the Ontario Labour Relations Board.
