Norton Rose Fulbright advises Enthusiast Gaming in creating North America’s largest gaming platform

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright advised Enthusiast Gaming on its $44.13 million acquisition of Omnia Media and subsequent $17.25 million financing, on Aug. 30 and Aug. 31, creating North America’s largest gaming media, eSports and entertainment platform.

Headquartered in Toronto, Enthusiast Gaming’s platform  features approximately 100 gaming related websites and 1,000 YouTube channels, collectively generating 4.2 billion views monthly and winning over 300 million video games and eSports new fans every month. Its leading eSports division, Luminosity Gaming, has 7 professional eSports teams under ownership and management, including the Vancouver Titans Overwatch team and the Seattle Surge Call of Duty team.

“Having an international team that was able to provide counsel in each of the key jurisdictions was critical to executing this transaction efficiently and on a tight timeline. Norton Rose Fulbright has the powerful advantage of calling on lawyers all over the world to serve clients with global business needs,” said Trevor Zeyl, corporate and securities lawyer in the Toronto office of Norton Rose Fulbright and team co-lead.

The purchase of Omnia Media is part of Enthusiast Gaming’s strategic growth strategy, having merged with Aquilini GameCo Inc. in Q4 2019 on the heels of purchasing 11 other gaming companies in the last three years.
