On November 13, 2000, State Street Trust Company Canada announced that it has entered into a lease with 30 Adelaide Street East Limited Partnership for up to 170,000 square feet in the building formerly known as 36 Adelaide Street East. The 390,000 square foot complex is currently undergoing a complete retrofit, and will be renamed State Street Financial Centre. The move is anticipated for the fall of 2001.
State Street Trust Company Canada is the Canadian arm of State Street Corporation, one of the world’s leading specialists in serving institutional investors, with nearly C$9 trillion in assets under custody and over C$1.1 trillion under management. The Canadian arm also has offices in Montreal and Vancouver, while the management arm of State Street Corporation, State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), has its head office in Montreal and will maintain its current location at First Canadian Place in Toronto.
