On October 17, 2003, Melbourne, Australia-based Amcor Limited purchased Rexam PLC’s healthcare flexibles packaging operations for approximately $300 million. Rexam, based in London, U.K., is a consumer packaging company and beverage can maker. The transaction involved the purchase of 10 plants located in seven countries: four in the U.S., and one each in England, Ireland, France, Singapore, Puerto Rico and Brazil, as well as sales offices in China, Spain and Germany.
