On July 14, 2003, Melbourne, Australia-based Amcor Limited, completed the sale, for an undisclosed amount, of part of its North American rigid plastic business to Laprairie, Quebec-based Plastipak Industries Inc. The business sold to Plastipak consisted of the main production assets of the rigid plastics Canadian division of Amcor Specialty Packaging Americas Inc., a Canadian subsidiary of Amcor Limited, and included a plant in Regina that manufactured rigid lightweight plastic containers and lids for the dairy, food and food service markets.
The financing for this transaction was provided by Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada and RoyNat Inc. Goulet Bowker & Associates Inc. acted as financial advisors.
