AMFC Establishes Euro Medium Term Note Programme

Peter Noble and Susan Mann of Ogilvy Renault’s London office assisted Merrill Lynch International’s Transaction Management Group, led by Ben Richards and Jonathan Ross, in connection with the amendment of the province of Alberta’s euro medium term note programme on December 19, 2001, to add Alberta Municipal Financing Corporation (AMFC), an agent of the Crown, as an issuer and increase the programme limit to US$2.7 billion. Notes issued by AMFC are guaranteed by the province.

Colleen Cebuliak of Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP in Edmonton provided advice as to Alberta law matters. The province and AMFC were represented by Don Svitich and Peter Thagard from the Alberta Justice Department. Nancy Bertrand and Julian Fletcher of Shearman & Sterling’s Toronto office provided advice with respect to U.S. law matters.
