On March 22, 2002, Autogrill SpA, the world’s largest provider of food, beverage and retail concessions in the travel industry, and also the world’s largest operator of highway rest area and airport restaurants, completed a major expansion into Canada by the acquisition from Lettuce Serview Limited Partners of 18 motorway travel centres along two major controlled access highways in Ontario, Highway 401 and Highway 400, including 56 food and beverage outlets and four retail locations. In a related transaction, Autogrill also acquired 18 food and beverage outlets at Lester B. Pearson International Airport in Toronto. The combined sales of these outlets exceed $80 million annually.
