B.C. Issues Notes Under Euro Debt Programme

On May 9, 2002, the province of British Columbia issued US$250 million, 5.25 per cent series BCEUS-6 notes due December 20, 2007, pursuant to its US$5 billion Euro debt issuance programme. The notes are listed on the London Stock Exchange. The lead underwriters for the offering were Royal Bank of Canada Europe Limited and Salomon Brothers International Limited, and included CIBC World Markets Inc., Credit Suisse First Boston (Europe) Limited, Deutsche Bank AG London, Banque Bruxelles Lambert SA, BNP Paribas, Merrill Lynch International, J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd. and The Toronto-Dominion Bank.
Michael Shepherd of the Ministry of the Attorney General represented the province. Frank Picciola and Susan Mann of Ogilvy Renault in London acted for the underwriters.
