On December 11, 2002, Mississauga, Ontario-headquartered Biovail Corporation acquired Irvine, California-based Pharma PASS LLC, and Pharma PASS SA, based in France, both of which belong to the Pharma PASS group. Pharma PASS is a developer of advanced oral controlled release technologies and formulations. Both companies were purchased for a total purchase price of approximately US$190 million.
