Broccolini Construction (Ontario) Inc. and Canderel Management Inc., as co-developers, acquired a downtown Ottawa site on February 12, 2009, consisting of an 11-building property portfolio for the purpose of redeveloping and constructing a 19-storey, 520,000 square foot office tower to be the new head office for Export Development Canada (EDC). The estimated project value is in excess of $150 million.
Canderel was represented by internal counsel, Joelle Sebag, with both Canderel and Broccolini assisted by a team from Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP composed of Philip Rimer, Jaclyn Marmara and Kenneth Beallor (leasing); and Tammy Evans (construction).
EDC was represented by its assistant general counsel, Anthony Abraham, and by a team from Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP, led by Laurie Sanderson.
The undisclosed vendor was represented by Bram Potechin of Merovitz Potechin LLP.
