On January 15, 2002, CAE completed a non-recourse, US$36.4 million, project financing transaction with Banco Itaú S.A. of Brazil for its aviation training facility located near Guarulhos International Airport in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The transaction represents the first cross-border project financing between a Canadian company and a Brazilian bank, with U.S. dollar loan financing to Banco Itaú being provided by Export Development Canada.
