Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corp, Calgary Flames owner, finalizes new Event Centre arena deal

Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation, owners of the Calgary Flames hockey franchise and other professional and amateur sports organizations in the province, completed comprehensive transactions with The City of Calgary, the Calgary Stampede, and various other stakeholders. These transactions involved the construction and long-term operation and management of the new $800 million Calgary Event Centre, as well as significant public infrastructure work in surrounding areas.

The Calgary Event Centre and adjacent public Community Rink will be a centrepiece in the new Culture + Entertainment District in downtown Calgary, and the new home arena for the Calgary Flames and other sports organizations, with construction beginning in 2024 and arena opening date expected in 2026 or 2027.
