Cambior Inc. acquired Ariane Gold Corp., an exploration company whose main asset is an advanced-stage gold development project in French Guiana, South America. The deal closed on November 29, 2003. The acquisition was made by way of a share exchange, using the procedure of a statutory triangular amalgamation, having a value of approximately $70 million based on the value of Cambior shares on the closing date.
