On February 1, 2006, Cameco Corporation completed its C$108 million acquisition of Zircatec Precision Industries Inc. Cameco, based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is the world's largest public uranium company, with growth plans in the nuclear energy sector. Cameco's Port Hope conversion facility currently provides Zircatec with uranium products for its fuel bundles. Zircatec, based in Port Hope, Ontario, manufactures and supplies nuclear fuel bundles and bundle components to CANDU-style nuclear reactors.
