Canbras Raises $100M in Rights Offering

Canbras Communications Corp. closed a $100 million rights offering on February 28, 2001 with shareholders subscribing for the maximum amount of 23,047,723 common shares.

Canbras was represented by Patricia A. Olah, Vice-President, Law, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, and by Norman Steinberg, Steve Malas and Stephen Kelly of Ogilvy Renault. Christine Dubé of Ogilvy Renault also provided counsel on regulatory matters. The dealer-managers, BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. and CIBC World Markets Inc., were represented by Paul Harris, Janet Ferrier and Pascal de Guise of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP.
