EdperBrascan Corporation completed on April 10, 2000 the sale of its 39 per cent interest in Canadian Hunter to a syndicate of underwriters lead by CIBC World Markets for $619 million. The offering was the largest of any oil and gas producer since Ottawa sold off a part of Petro Canada in 1995 for $1.8 billion and Sun Company’s $1.2 billion offering of its Suncor Inc. shares.
