On February 11, 2003, New York-based Entrepia Ventures, Inc. closed the first tranche of its second venture capital fund. The amount raised was approximately $75 million split between two parallel funds, New York-based Entrepia Fund II, LP and Montreal-based Entrepia Fund North, L.P. Investors in these sister funds include the Fonds de solidarité des travailleurs du Québec (F.T.Q.), SGF Tech Inc., Société Innovatech du Grand Montréal, Société Innovatech Québec et Chaudière-Appalaches, Nissho Iwai American Corp., and other Japanese and U.S.-based funds.
In Canada, Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP in Montreal acted for the Entrepia funds with a team that included Shahir Guindi, Constantine Troulis, François Auger, Dominique Têtu, Frédéric Dionne and Michel Ranger. In the U.S., Entrepia was represented by Robert Holton, Barry Wade and Kenneth Kwok of Dorsey & Whitney LLP in New York.
