On December 22, 2004, Fort Chicago Energy Partners LP, through an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, completed its acquisition of a 100 per cent interest in the Alberta Ethane Gathering System (AEGS), including all of the shares of Alberta Ethane Development Company Ltd. (AEDC) for approximately $270 million. AEGS was previously owned, directly or indirectly, by EnCana Corp. and NOVA Chemicals Corp. Fort Chicago also entered into an agreement with NOVA Chemicals pursuant to which NOVA Chemicals will physically operate AEGS.
