On August 14, 2003, Golden Star Resources Ltd., a Denver, Colorado-based gold mining company, completed a bought deal offering of common shares for total gross proceeds of $36.8 million, including the underwriters’over allotment option. Orion Securities Inc. and BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. led the underwriting syndicate, which included Canaccord Capital Corporation, National Bank Financial Inc., RBC Dominion Securities Inc. and Westwind Partners Inc.
