Great Lakes Power Group announced on October 12, 2001 that it had signed an agreement to acquire six hydroelectric facilities in Maine from Great Northern Paper Inc. for $156.5 million. The combined capacity of the facilities is approximately 130 MW and includes 11 water storage dams.
