GT Group Telecom Completes Bought Deal

GT Group Telecom Inc. completed a bought deal, MJDS offering of 10 million Class B non-voting shares to raise gross proceeds of $105 million on June 1, 2001. Senior Vice-President and General Counsel Robert M. Fabes led the legal team at GT Group Telecom, with assistance from Associate Counsel Michael Campbell. Torys acted for GT Group Telecom in Canada, with a team that included Candy Saga, Suh Kim, Phil Brown, Charles Dalfen and John Toffoletto. Shearman & Sterling represented the company in the US, with a team that included Susan Lehner, David Wilson and Jennifer Mazin. The underwriting syndicate, jointly led by CIBC World Markets Inc. and Merrill Lynch Canada Inc., was represented in Canada by Debbie Alexander, Rick Fullerton, Monica Biringer and Lisa Shostack of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP and in the US by Chris Morgan, Robert Normandeau, Jonathan James and Michael Smith of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
