Lafarge Corporation, North America’s largest diversified supplier of construction materials, and Kilmer Van Nostrand Co. Limited (KVN) announced on July 25, 2000 that they will merge KVN’s wholly-owned subsidiary, The Warren Paving & Materials Group Limited with Lafarge’s aggregates, asphalt and paving operations in Canada. Warren is Canada’s largest privately held supplier of construction aggregate and a leading supplier of asphalt and paving services. Lafarge Corporation is North America’s largest diversified supplier of cement, aggregates and concrete, and other materials for residential, commercial, institutional and public works construction. The transaction, valued at approximately $425 million, is subject to conditions and is expected to close this fall.
