Platexco Inc. and South African-based Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd. (Impala), the world’s second largerst platinum producer, announced on June 8, 2000, that they had entered into an agreement whereby Impala will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Platexco for cash consideration of $9.50 per share, valuing the transaction at approximately $190 million.
