Borden Ladner Gervais LLP advised South African bank Investec Group Ltd. in locking-up its 24 per cent equity interest to the announced offer by Nova Bancorp Group, supported by the Caisse de depot et placements du Quebec (Caisse de depot), for control of TSE-listed Strategic Value Corporation (SVC). SVC, with funds under management of $3.6 billion, will continue to draw on founding shareholder Mark Bonham, who also locked-up to the offer, for domestic investment advice, and on Investec for international advice on several of the Strategic Value Funds.
