Kiewit/Flatiron and Transportation Investment Enter $2.4B Design Build Agreement

Kiewit/Flatiron general partnership and Transportation Investment Corporation successfully entered into a design build agreement for the construction of the Port Mann/Highway 1 Project on March 17, 2009.

The $2.4 billion project involves the design and construction of a new Port Mann Bridge, and the widening and upgrading of Highway 1 between Vancouver and Langley, British Columbia.

The design-builder for the project is Kiewit/Flatiron general partnership, a partnership between Peter Kiewit Sons Co. and Flatiron Constructors Canada Limited.

Transportation Investment Corporation was represented by Maria D'Archangelo and James Harvey of the Ministry of the Attorney General of British Columbia, Christopher Holmes, Paul Richardson, Maria McKenzie, Dean O'Leary and David McBride of Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP, and Bobby Stewart of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP.

Counsel for Kiewit/Flatiron and Peter Kiewit Sons Co. were Chris White and Sam Gilmore, both in-house counsel with Peter Kiewit Sons Co.
