Livingston Group Sells Logistics Businesses to UPS

On October 3, 2000, UPS Logistics Group (UPS) completed the purchase of Livingston Inc. of Oakville, Ontario, and Livingston Healthcare Services Inc. of Newark, Delaware. The logistics businesses sold to UPS provide third-party warehousing and distribution services to Canadian and US manufacturers. With the acquisition of Livingston Inc., UPS has 18 distribution centres across Canada, specializing in supply chain management in the high-tech, consumer products and healthcare sectors. The acquisition is the fifth this year for UPS, a subsidiary of United Parcel Service, Inc., which provides global logistic services.

UPS Logistics Group was provided advice in Canada by Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, and by King & Spalding in Atlanta on US law.
