Macquarie-led Consortium Acquires Thames Water From RWE AG

Thames Water, the largest water and sewage service provider in the United Kingdom supplying drinking water to eight million customers and sewage services to 13 million customers, was acquired by a Macquarie-led consortium on December 1, 2006. The transaction has an enterprise value of £8 billion (£4.8 billion share price and £3.2 billion assumed debt).
