MDS Capital Corp., a life sciences-focused private equity firm, established MDS Life Sciences Technology Fund II on August 26, 2002. The fund is focused on making investments in emerging healthcare and life sciences companies in North America. Canada Pension Plan Investment Board committed $100 million to the fund and an additional $100 million to a separate co-investment vehicle. The board also acquired a 10 per cent ownership position in MDS Capital.
