MEG Energy Corp. has successfully completed equity financing for its oil sands development projects in the Athabasca region of Alberta, Canada. On January 31, 2007, MEG closed an equity financing raising $800 million by way of a private placement of 23.9 million common shares to institutional investors. MEG's agents for the equity financing were Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, Lehman Brothers Inc., BMO Capital Markets Corp. and Scotia Capital Inc.
