On April 29, 2011, Mobilicity enhanced its leadership position as Canada's rising new wireless carrier by raising $215 million through a debt offering of First Lien Senior Secured Notes and Senior Unsecured Debentures. The underwriter syndicate was led by National Bank Financial Inc. and GMP Securities L.P.
The offering represents one of the largest capital raises for an emerging telecommunications carrier in Canada in recent years, and will provide Mobilicity with growth capital to further strengthen its customer experience across Canada.
Mobilicity was represented by Stikeman Elliott LLP with a team that included Dee Rajpal, Victor Chai, Jonah Mann, Ryan Lennox and Tariq Rangwala (corporate) and Marie Garneau, and Courtney Wilson (banking).
The underwriters were represented by Goodmans LLP with a team that included Grant McGlaughlin, Gesta Abols and Lauren MacLeod (corporate) and Mark Surchin and Grant Coad (banking).
