Oaks Concrete Products Ltd., a consortium led Brampton Brick Limited, acquired the concrete, paving, stone and retaining wall businesses of Lafarge Canada Inc. and Lafarge North America Inc., for a purchase price of approximately $60 million, plus working capital. The acquired assets included manufacturing plants located in Markham and Milton, Ontario and in Wixom, Michigan. Oaks Concrete Products is a joint venture between Brampton Brick, and a group of prominent investors including developers, builders and contractors. The deal was completed on May 13, 2002.
