On March 31, 2004, Ogilvy & Mather North America, a unit of WPP Group plc, acquired privately held Marketing Communication Group Inc., one of Canada’s largest independent advertising agencies with offices in London, Ontario and Toronto, for an undisclosed amount. MC Group, which includes MC Direct, Canada’s third largest direct response agency, will operate as an independent unit of Ogilvy & Mather North America, headquartered in New York.
