On October 21, 2004, the Province of Ontario completed the sale of US$1 billion aggregate principal amount of 3.625 per cent global bonds due October 21, 2009. The bonds were offered through an underwriting syndicate led by Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Inc. and RBC Capital Markets Corp. and including ABN AMRO Bank NV, Barclays Capital Inc., BNP Paribas Securities Corp., Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Lehman Brothers Inc., the Toronto-Dominion Bank, UBS Securities LLC, CIBC World Markets Corp., Credit Suisse First Boston LLC, Harris Nesbitt Corp., National Bank Financial Inc. and Scotia Capital (USA) Inc. The bonds were offered for sale in the US through a prospectus supplement under the Province’s existing shelf registration statement and will be listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
