On July 20, 2000, Rexel S.A., a world leader in the distribution of electrical parts and supplies, and Westburne Inc., the leader for the distribution of electrical supplies in Canada, announced an agreement for the acquisition by Rexel S.A. of all the outstanding shares of Westburne for a price of $22.75 per share for a total cash consideration of $987 million. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of September, 2000.
