Rogers Communications Acquires Toronto Blue Jays

Rogers Communications Inc. recently completed its purchase of an 80 per cent interest in Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club from Labatt Brewing Company Limited, a subsidiary of Interbrew SA (Belgium), for approximately US$110 million. Interbrew, the second-largest brewer in the world in terms of volume, retains a 20 per cent stake in the franchise.

Rogers was represented by its general counsel, David Miller, and a team from Lang Michener of Albert Gnat, Q.C., Carl De Vuono, James Musgrove, John Payne, Peter Giddens and James Stranges.
