On December 6, 2002, Royal Bank of Canada issued US$500 million 3.5 per cent deposit notes due December 6, 2007, pursuant to its US$12 billion euro debt issuance programme. The joint lead managers for the offering were Royal Bank of Canada Europe Limited and Salomon Brothers International Ltd., and the managers included Banque Bruxelles Lambert S.A., Dexia Banque Internationale à Luxembourg societe anonyme, acting under the name of Dexia Capital Markets, Fortis Bank nv-sa, KBC Bank NV and UBS AG, acting through its business group UBS Warburg. The bank was represented in-house by Jason Arbuck, RBC law group, and by Susan Mann of Ogilvy Renault in London. Sherry Roth of Stikeman Elliott LLP represented the managers.
