Scotia Capital Inc. and TD Securities Inc. created a capital markets platform to finance the $850 million purchase by AltaLink LP of the power transmission assets from TransAlta Corp., which closed on April 29, 2002.

Oslers susbsequently acted for The Bank of Nova Scotia in negotiating and finalizing a $185 million working capital and capex credit facility to be used by AltaLink in the operation and expansion of its power transmission business in Alberta, which was completes in May 10, 2001.
