The St. Paul Companies, a Minnesota-based global commercial property-liability insurance and non-life reinsurance company, through a wholly owned Canadian subsidiary, acquired London Guarantee Insurance Company and its related affiliates. St. Paul acquired Toronto-based London Guarantee, a Canadian leader in the surety and professional indemnity business, from an affiliate of The Great-West Life Assurance Company and a minority group of individuals on March 21, 2002 for $125 million.
