On Friday, July 17, 2009, Stampede Station Development Corporation closed the sale of Stampede Station, a new office building in Calgary, for approximately $74 million. Stampede Station was a joint venture involving Opus Building Corporation and WAM Development Group. A unique feature of the transaction was the strata lot subdivsion of the property into two phases, preserving the ability of the vendor to develop an adjoining building as a second phase of the development of the property.
Bennett Jones LLP represented Stampede Station Development Corporation with a team consisting of Edmonton-based lawyers David Finlay, Robert Bothwell and Jessica Robertson and in Calgary, Darryl Barber (corporate). The purchaser was CR Station General Partner Inc. in its capacity as general partner for the partners of CR Station Limited Partnership and was represented by Greg Howard, Frank Arnone and Nataša Biraè of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP in Toronto.
