On December 30, 2004, Summit Real Estate Investment Trust completed a public offering of 4,583,700 units at $18 per unit for total gross proceeds of $82,506,600. The lead underwriter was CIBC World Markets Inc. and the underwriting syndicate included RBC Dominion Securities Inc., BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., Scotia Capital Inc., National Bank Financial Inc., Canaccord Capital Corp., Trilon Securities Corp. and Desjardins Securities Inc. The net proceeds of the offering will be used to repay the REIT's existing indebtedness, fund future acquisitions and for general trust purposes.
