Taqa Acquires Northrock Resources

On August 14, 2007, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA) completed the acquisition of all of the issued and outstanding shares of Northrock Resources Ltd., a Calgary-based oil and gas exploration and production company, from Pogo Producing Company of Houston, Texas for US$2 billion in cash. The acquired entity, now known as “TAQA North Ltd.”, is set to provide TAQA with an additional 142 million barrels of proven oil and gas reserves and production of approximately 37,000 boe/d (gross) from properties located in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories. TAQA's entry into the Canadian upstream energy sector continues its diversification through the acquisition of international energy assets.
