On February 24, 2006, The Toronto-Dominion Bank entered into an outsourcing agreement with Bell Canada for the development and operation by Bell of a new technology platform for TD's contact centre. As part of this seven-year, $300 million deal, Bell Canada will take over the operation of TD's existing contact centre technology platforms and develop and migrate TD to a new, consolidated contact centre technology platform.
The deal was led by a team from Torys LLP that consisted of Wendy Gross, Gabe Takach, Joel Ramsey and Michelle Kisluk (outsourcing), Christina Medland (employment), Sunny Sodhi (regulatory) and Ron Nobrega (tax). TD legal was represented by in-house counsel Faeron Trehearne, senior legal counsel and senior manager, Enterprise Supplier Management. Bell Canada legal was represented by Brenda MacDonald, assistant general counsel, Bell Canada, and by Amy-Lynne Williams of Deeth Williams Wall LLP.
